Thursday, April 13, 2023 - 11:30

The Royal College of Music (RCM) in South Kensington has been ranked as the global No. 1 institution for performing arts in the 2023 QS World University Rankings by Subject, holding this position for the second consecutive year. The College has been ranked first in the UK consistently since 2016, and first in Europe in five of these years.

The Royal College of Music has one of the richest artistic programmes of any conservatoire, with over 500 events each year giving students unparalleled performance experience in front of a live audience and enabling them to work with some of today’s finest professional musicians.

In recent years the RCM has transformed its campus, almost doubling the estate’s footprint, adding a new performance hall, a new performance studio, a large café and courtyard area and a new interactive Museum, all of which contribute to an inspirational environment in which students can create, research, and perform.

The development programme also expanded access and broadened the potential for event planners to maximise the unique atmosphere of the Grade II-listed building for corporate and private events. Clients can host a wide range of events including performances, exhibitions, dinners and conferences, across the College’s inspirational spaces for up to 400 guests.

Vicky Moran, head of events and corporate partnerships at the Royal College of Music, comments: “It’s fantastic to see the College recognised as the global No. 1 institution for performing arts for the second consecutive year. The global reputation and prestigious nature of the College has consolidated the venue’s position as a high profile, unique setting for corporate and private events. As a charity and place of education, each and every event held at the College helps to support the development of the next generation of talented musicians, as well as maintaining and developing the facilities.”
